Even though Texas had trouble with hitting their shots in the first half they opened the 2nd half 21-12 to lead 59-35.
(19) Ohio State 71 – Washington 54
Marscilla Packer scored 18 points as the Ohio State Buckeyes routed and overmatched Washington.
(9) Oklahoma 66 – (21) Michigan State 55
Courtney Paris recorded her 68th straight double/double while win sister Ashly scored 12 to help Oklahoma defeat Michigan State. It turned out to be a game of rebounds, with Michigan not rebounding when it counted. Michigan lead at the half 28-17, but only scored 27 in the second half while giving up 49. Allyssa Dehaan scored 10 with 5 blocks in the lost.
(8) LSU 76 – LA Tech 45
Behind Sylvia Fowles’ 16 points and eight rebounds LSU had an easy time in their win over LA Tech. They led at the half 40-22 when LA Tech missed 14 of 17 shots after cutting a LSU lead to 3 with 12 minutes left in the 1st half.
(5) Stanford 87 – (10) Baylor 63
Not only did Stanford deliver Rutgers their first lost, they did it also to Baylor. Candice Wiggins scored 35 points in the game where she also scored her 2,000 point as a college player. It was Stanford’s first game back from a two week break. It didn’t look as if they’ve been away.
(1) Tennessee 96 – Gonzaga 73
Tennessee had a 15-0 run in the 1st half to take an 24-9 lead after 8 minutes and added an 18-0 run in the second half. Shannon Bobbitt returned to the Tennessee lineup scoring 6 and had 13 assists.
